The PinBoggs pinball tournaments are private events held at my house. Since space in my house and the number of machines are limited I have to put a limit on the number of players. The IFPA requires a minimum of 16 players for a private event to count for WPPR points and I have room for a maximum of approximately 24 people.
This is a combination pinball tournament and New Years Celebration! The Tournament will be held on December 31st, 2022 at my house (email for directions) with qualifying (and the party) starting at 5pm. The tournament is an open format qualifier (also known as Best Game Style Qualifing or Herb rules) in which a $10 buy-in allows you to play 10 games. You are required to play each of the 7 tournament games once, and then may use your remaining 3 games to attempt to get a better score on one of the games you already played. At 9:30pm the qualifying period will end and the top 4 or top 8 (depending on number of entries) will be announced based on score rank for each machine. The top player will receive 100 points, the 2nd gets 90 points, 3rd 85 points, then decreasing by 2 points for each place after that. The top players will then face off in a single-elimination final tournament to claim a coveted spot on the PinBoggs winner trophy!
Games will have sign-up sheets for tournament players to claim the next spot. Open games may be played by other guests or tournament players who have already claimed a score for that machine.
