Adam's RV7A Wings and Fuel Tanks

The Wing Kit was ordered from Van's on May 15th, 2002 and arrived on Auguest 30th. The wings include the prefabricated main spar, a rear spar, and main ribs that go between. In front of the main spar are noseribs and a leading edge skin on the outboard side, and a detachable fuel tank on the inboard side. The fuel tanks have additional stiffeners on the bottom and thicker skins to carry the extra weight, and the rivets are sealed with Pro Seal fuel tank sealant.

Main skins cover the bulk of the wing structure, with access panels on the bottom. Electrical conduit from Van's wiring kit runs wires to the outboard tip for position lights, strobes, and the Duckworks leading-edge landing lights. The aileron pushrod runs to a bellcrank to operate the ailerons. And of course, a ram air pressure line runs from the wing-mounted pitot tube to the fuselage.
